Space Camp 2017

During the first week of March, the TASIS Dorado 6th grade students made their annual visit to Space Camp in Huntsville, AL. Accompanied by our incredible 6th Grade and STEAM team of teachers, Tere Mendoza, Ashley Weihe, Jeimy Gonzalez, Cuqui Mieres and Cristina Centeno, our kids spent 6 fascinating days exploring the world of astronaut training and space exploration. The activities were varied, and included experiencing movement with minimal gravity on the 1/6 Gravity Chair, as well as real-world applications of their math, science and technology skills. The most treasured activity of the week, Area 51, gave the kids a chance to work as a team through a simulated space mission. The TASIS students and staff all had a unique and exciting week at Space Camp.
